Welcome to The Lepper Road—our record of life after work and the places, people, detours, and experiences we encounter along the way.
We’re Rick and Synara Lepper. After nearly three decades in the corporate technology world, I traded enterprise architecture for what I like to call being recreationally employed. Retirement isn’t the end of the road for us. It’s the first time we’ve had the freedom to choose more of the roads ourselves.
Those roads may take us through the Appalachian Mountains on two wheels, across the country with and without a motorcycle trailer and bikes in tow, along an overlooked back road, or simply somewhere new for a good meal and an interesting story. Our adventures include motorcycle touring, camping, road trips, general travel, future RV life, and plenty of outings with our rescue dog, Abby and of course, our good friends that share like adventures.

This isn’t intended to be a perfectly polished highlight reel. Travel rarely goes exactly according to plan, and some of the best stories begin when it doesn’t. We’ll share the enjoyable parts, the mistakes, the unexpected discoveries, and the things we would do differently next time.
Why “The Lepper Road”?
The name is both literal and personal.
The road represents travel, freedom, change, and the uncertainty of not always knowing what lies around the next bend. “Lepper” makes it ours—a place to preserve our experiences today and, we hope, leave behind something meaningful for our family tomorrow.
We’re still figuring out exactly where this road will lead. That is largely the point.
